Raising Cane’s Coming to St. Petersburg!

As a passionate realtor and self-proclaimed chicken finger connoisseur, I, Rob Johnson of Avalon Group Realty, am thrilled to share some mouth-watering news with my fellow St. Petersburg residents. Our vibrant city is about to get a taste of something truly special – Raising Cane’s, the beloved Louisiana-based fried chicken chain, is finally making its way to our sunny shores!

Raising Cane’s Coming to St. Petersburg!  A Dream Come True

Just two weeks ago, I was reminiscing with friends and family about my favorite chicken finger restaurant, wishing we had one right here in St. Pete. Lo and behold, it’s like the Creator hears us and is answering our prayer! Raising Cane’s is set to open its first St. Petersburg location at 6901 22nd Avenue North, right at Tyrone Square Mall in the parking lot of Dillards. As a frequent visitor to their other locations, I can assure you that this is an exciting development for our community.

The Perfect Location

The chosen site for this new culinary hotspot is currently owned by Ohio-based Allied Stores General Real Estate Company, which has ties to Ronald Tysoe, Director at CINTAS and former Vice Chairman of Macy’s Inc. This prime location at Tyrone Square Mall ensures easy access for residents and visitors alike, making it a convenient stop for a quick and delicious meal.

Expanding in Tampa Bay

While this will be the first Raising Cane’s in St. Petersburg, it’s worth noting that this will be the chain’s third Tampa Bay location. The franchise has already made its mark in Clearwater, with two successful restaurants:

  1. The first local drive-thru opened in 2023 on Gulf to Bay Boulevard, after the company invested $4.5 million to purchase and redevelop the site of a former Village Inn restaurant.
  2. Shortly after, a second location opened at 4835 East Bay Drive, also in Clearwater.

The success of these nearby locations bodes well for our upcoming St. Pete restaurant, as Tampa Bay residents have clearly embraced the Raising Cane’s experience.

Raising Cane’s Coming to St. Petersburg!  A Menu That Will Make Your Mouth Water

Now, let’s talk about what really matters – the food! Raising Cane’s is renowned for its signature chicken tenders, which are brushed with a special marinade and fried to perfection in a Canola Oil mix. But what truly sets them apart is their famous Cane’s sauce – a heavenly blend of mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire, and spices that complements the crispy tenders perfectly.

As someone who considers himself a honey mustard aficionado, I must say that Raising Cane’s honey mustard sauce is, in my opinion, the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s a game-changer that elevates the entire chicken finger experience to new heights.

The menu offers various combo options, including three-, four-, and six-piece chicken tender meals. Each combo comes with their addictive crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw, and a refreshing drink. And the best part? Prices start at just $5.19 for the kids’ meal, making it an affordable option for families.

For those hosting gatherings or game day parties, Raising Cane’s also offers “tailgate” platters of chicken tenders, as well as lemonade and sweet tea by the gallon. It’s the perfect solution for feeding a crowd of hungry friends and family!

Clockwise: Meal with fries and toast, Disco Mirror Balls are in every dining room, bottom left: I like to get just chicken strips with honey mustard sauce.

Community Impact and Job Opportunities

The arrival of Raising Cane’s isn’t just great news for our taste buds – it’s also a positive development for our local economy. The franchise has already begun the hiring process, seeking a General Manager to oversee daily operations. This new restaurant will create numerous job opportunities for St. Petersburg residents, contributing to our city’s growth and prosperity.

Aaron Hunt, Broker of Avalon Group Realty in St. Petersburg, shares my enthusiasm: “The addition of Raising Cane’s to our local dining scene is not only exciting for food lovers but also a testament to St. Petersburg’s growing appeal to national brands. This development could potentially increase foot traffic and property values in the Tyrone Square Mall area, which is great news for both businesses and homeowners in the vicinity.”

Convenient Hours for Chicken Cravings

Once open, we can expect Raising Cane’s to cater to both early birds and night owls. Based on their existing locations, the restaurant will likely open daily at 10 a.m. Closing times may vary, but typically, they close at midnight from Sunday through Thursday and extend their hours until 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. This flexibility ensures that whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or a late-night snack, Raising Cane’s will be there to satisfy your cravings.

Raising Cane’s Coming to St. Petersburg!  A Bright Future for St. Pete’s Culinary Scene

While an exact opening date hasn’t been announced yet, we can expect to see the doors of our very own Raising Cane’s swing open within a year once construction begins. The franchise typically builds 3,000-square-foot restaurants, providing ample space for dine-in customers while also accommodating drive-thru service.

Pam Amante, a fellow Realtor at Avalon Group Realty, shares her thoughts on this exciting development: “As a real estate professional, I’m always thrilled to see popular national chains choosing to invest in our community. The arrival of Raising Cane’s not only adds to our diverse dining options but also signals confidence in St. Petersburg’s continued growth and desirability as a place to live and do business.”

In conclusion, the imminent arrival of Raising Cane’s in St. Petersburg is more than just a new restaurant opening – it’s a cause for celebration. As a long-time fan of their delicious chicken tenders and unbeatable sauces, I’m overjoyed to welcome this beloved chain to our community. The new location at Tyrone Square Mall will undoubtedly become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, further enriching our city’s vibrant culinary landscape.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to experience the crispy, juicy goodness that is Raising Cane’s. Trust me, once you’ve tasted their chicken fingers and that heavenly honey mustard sauce, you’ll understand why I’ve been raving about them to anyone who would listen. St. Petersburg, our taste buds are in for a treat!
