by Rob Johnson

The top 2023 White Paint Colors to Sell Your Home Fast are all in the warm white category.  In 2023, cool and stark white paint colors are out.  Everyone is wanting homes to feel warm and inviting.  We have compiled our 5 favorite warm white exterior paint colors after researching what home buyers are looking for in a home.  Warmth, warmth, warmth.  Gray and stark white is out of style.  Each of these warm white colors are all equally a #1 in our book.  You will be in top style if you use any of these colors on the exterior and also interior of your home.

Alabaster SW 7008 by Sherwin-Williams

Williamsburg style home with dormer windows painted in Sherman Williams Alabaster paint color.

SW Alabaster Exterior

Alabaster is one of the 2023 White Paint Colors and the most versatile exterior white paints out there. Sherwin-Williams chose Alabaster as its Color of the Year for 2016, and Joanna Gaines painted her own house with it, so you know it’s good! With a slightly lower LRV of 82, Alabaster is a bit softer and slightly creamier than White Dove, but it still reads like a bright white. This is a great choice for a classic, timeless, inviting look!  And its soft glow prevents it from looking stark.

In addition, if you put Alabaster next to cool-leaning crisp white paint colors, it will tend to look more yellow than they will. Yellow undertones lend warmth to this shade.

However, it’s not as yellow as Creamy and will read as a soft and creamy off-white without yellow undertones on your walls. Although Alabaster warms up a space, it does not pull yellow.

White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17 is one of the most popular white paint colors of all time. As a warm creamy white, it looks fabulous

White Dove is a warm white paint color with greige undertones and a smidge of gray pigment that helps ground the color and keep it from looking yellow.  White Dove has yellow undertones mixed with a slight gray, which together create a beautiful soft creamy off white color. The warm and cool undertones balance each other out to create the perfect neutral white paint.

Additionally, Benjamin Moore’s White Dove is a hugely popular white paint color.

Heralded as one of the top ten best-selling paint colors by Benjamin Moore year after year and one of our 2023 White Paint Colors, White Dove is favored by homeowners and designers alike.

In fact, many people would say that White Dove is Benjamin Moore’s best white. It is both classic and versatile, making it a great choice if you’re looking for an amazing white paint shade.

White Flour SW 7102 by Sherwin-Williams

Traditional home painted with the warm white paint color called White Flour by Sherwin Williams.

White Flour Exterior Paint Color

Sherwin Williams White Flour is a creamy white that is particularly popular in modern farmhouse color schemes.  White Flour can look like a true white, or it can look very creamy depending on the situation. Such is the nature of whites!  I will say that indoors, I have not seen White Flour looking yellow, or even especially creamy. It is exteriors that can sometimes show off the “not white” properties.  White Flour is in the orange color family (like most popular cream colors).  Orange whites are great, because they are warm and creamy but they tend to have a soft beige undertone, and not yellow.  White Flour is a great cozy 2023 White Paint Colors on our list and you should definitely put it on your shortlist if you are looking for the perfect warm white.

SW 7042 Shoji White by Sherwin-Williams

If you’re concerned about your white exterior being too bright, check out Shoji White (LRV 74). It is one of my favorite off-whites for exteriors, and I recommend it often! It has neutral undertones with subtle hints of gray and beige.

Additionally, Shoji White can look more like a white, or more like an off-white, depending on your lighting conditions (shady or cloudy versus direct sunlight). Shoji White is a solid choice for a softer overall look, without being too creamy or too gray.

If your home has more of a traditional look on the exterior, our 2023 White Paint Colors including Shoji White can be an amazing color because it provides a neutral palette, while still keeping the home feeling fresh and modern. It’s perfectly paired with deep reds, blues, greens, taupes, grays – almost any color.

Swiss Coffee OC-45 by Benjamin Moore

Swiss Coffee Exterior Brick color fits perfectly with the honey wood columns on the porch.

Swiss Coffee Exterior

What are the Swiss Coffee Paint Benjamin Moore undertones? Just about every single white paint color has at least subtle undertones (is it really even possible to get a truly neutral white?)

This color is a light off-white. With an LRV (Light Reflective Value scale where 0 is black and 100 is pure white) of 83.93, BM Swiss Coffee reflects a large amount of light.

However, it has slight gray, green and yellow undertones that give it that soft, creamy, inviting look that people love.

Color psychologists and interior designers agree some colors are cozy and welcoming, while cool toned whites make the space feel cold and spacious. For example, a warm white like Swiss Coffee is simple, clean, and honest. Exactly what you want for your home!

Swiss Coffee is versatile. The warm off-white can go with any style of home and fit into any neighborhood. Traditional, modern, farmhouse, transitional, cottage, or sophisticated. Swiss coffee is one of our great 2023 White Paint Colors and remains versatile through style shifts and can transition if you make style changes.

You can’t go wrong with any of the paint colors mentioned above.  Your home will have a white warm glow that will be inviting to everyone that drives by.  Furthermore, if you are looking to sell your home, when potential buyers drive up, they will instantly fall in love with your home.  Homes that are bright and warm will create a feeling of love and peace.
