Rob Share’s the Secret Recipe He Developed
The Perfect Waffle Recipe…We have a tradition at our house every Saturday morning…we make waffles. “Waffles and cartoons” is always the agenda before heading out to show homes to clients. We recently decided to create the perfect waffle that is healthy and delicious. After 9 weeks of testing different concoctions, we now present the perfect waffle recipe!
Ingredients:
Ingredients for the perfect waffle recipe include: 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour, 1/4 Cup Almond Flour, 1 Tablespoon Cornmeal, 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda, 1/2 Teaspoon Salt, 1 Cup Buttermilk, 2 eggs separated, 3 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted.
Directions:
Whisk both flours, cornmeal, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate medium bowl whisk the buttermilk, egg yolks, and melted (cooled) butter together. Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium-low until foamy, then increase to high until stiff peaks (3-4 minutes)…this is one of the secrets to the perfect waffle recipe.
Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients in a slow steady stream while mixing with spatula. Near the end of the liquid use a folding motion. Next, gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
We set our Cuisinart waffle maker on level 4 heat (There are heating levels 1-5). Butter the waffle iron surface. Add 1/2 cup batter to the waffle iron and close lid, allowing the waffle to cook for 3 min. While cooking, place a small butter square on the plate. After 3 min, remove waffle and place on top of butter on the plate, then butter the top as much as you desire. For the perfect waffle recipe (best experience) use only real maple syrup.
You can make this a Saturday morning tradition as well. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend and create memories. Make sure you turn on some cartoons while prepping the waffles, then gather around the dining table to talk about what you plan to do the rest of the day. Traditions are important…they knit the family into a tighter loving bond.
